It was to this end that a symposium was held on 20th of December, 2018 at Library Hall, Patiala Block, King Edward Medical University, Lahore, with the support of the KE faculty and alumni. This article explores the key features of Universal Healthcare, based upon clinical vignettes from the author’s personal experiences. In the articles that will follow, including this issue and the subsequent issues of the Annals, specialists in their own fields will describe their experiences and share their propositions and recommendations for the future of healthcare planning in Pakistan.
